Hi everyone! Just wanted to say that I made it through the surgery yesterday. It was a long hard day and briefly they hooked up the stimulation and it is now working on the proper side. The pain is intense and all I can say is that I hope it goes away quickly. I was back at the hospital this morning to have the power unit programed and hopefully I can start getting some relief. The chronic pain with surgical pain is a really bad combo! Like everything else though you get through it and you keep moving on.

For the next six to eight weeks I’m not allowed to move my head from side to side, so that the electrode that they placed in my neck doesn’t dislodge from where they placed it. It also means that I’m not going to be able to drive for that time period. I wasn’t expecting the extra surprise but it makes sense. At the moment everything is running outside my body so on Tuesday I’ll go in again for surgery to internalize everything. This recovery seems to be one of the toughest I’ve been through and I pray for relief quickly! When I’m feeling a bit better I’ll put up another post but for now I need some rest, so I’ll see you all soon.
